Fugitive Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Purse

A 28-year-old man wanted in four states on suspicion of assault, auto theft, burglary, robbery and weapons violations was arrested Monday after allegedly stealing a woman’s purse as she entered a store in the 600 block of Orange Street.

Jesse Anthony Caron -- recently profiled on television’s “America’s Most Wanted” -- fled as the 51-year-old woman chased him while shouting for help, police said. Two workers under an Interstate 10 overpass heard her cries, cornered Caron in an access tunnel and restrained him until police arrived.

Caron is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
