Erin Kelly scored off a corner kick from Niki Connolly in the 60th minute and that was all Woodland Hills El Camino Real would need to secure a record sixth consecutive City Section girls’ soccer championship with a 1-0 victory over West Valley League rival Granada Hills Saturday at East L.A. College.

Senior captain Katie Oakes was mistakenly announced as the goal scorer, but said afterward that it was her teammate who kicked it in.

“I’ve got to give Erin the credit,” Oakes said.

Top-seeded El Camino Real (21-1-2) held a 26-2 advantage in shots.

Green Son had 14 saves for third-seeded Granada Hills (20-6-2), which had not allowed a goal in its four previous games.

Lake Balboa Birmingham 4, Canoga Park 2 -- Oscar Garcia scored the decisive goal on a diving header in the 68th minute and Erik Moran added an insurance goal just before the final whistle as Birmingham upset top-seeded Canoga Park to win its first City Section boys’ soccer championship at East Los Angeles College.

Five minutes after the third-seeded Patriots (17-2-2) tied the score at 2 on a goal by Efren Rodriguez, Garcia muscled between two defenders to redirect Moran’s corner kick past goalie Cesar Ventura of Canoga Park (23-1).
