The San Antonio Spurs started well and hardly let up.
Tony Parker scored 29 points -- all in the first three quarters -- and the visiting Spurs made 12 of their first 15 shots on the way to a 117-93 victory that ended the short-handed Phoenix Suns’ 11-game winning streak.
The Suns, without point guard Steve Nash (sprained ankle) and his backup Leandro Barbosa (groin injury), were no match for the Spurs, who shot 55% in their eighth win in the last nine games.
The Spurs also shut down the Suns’ perimeter game, limiting them to three-for-13 three-point shooting compared with their own eight for 19.
Boris Diaw had 16 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Suns, who failed to reach 100 points for the first time in 23 games.
Denver 97, Philadelphia 93 -- Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, including the go-ahead basket with 18 seconds left, to help lift the host Nuggets to their third straight victory.
Allen Iverson scored 38 points for Philadelphia, which lost its third in a row.
Dallas 109, Portland 92 -- Dirk Nowitzki had 33 points and 10 rebounds to help the visiting Mavericks beat the Trail Blazers for the 10th time in a row and for the second time in three nights.
Zach Randolph had 29 points for Portland.
