A ‘person of interest’ named in slayings
A known gang member was identified Thursday as a “person of interest” in a Pasadena car crash in which two of the passengers were found fatally shot. The driver of the crashed car then beat up a woman who stopped to offer assistance and stole her car.
The gang member, Manuel Penaloza, 20, also known as “Lil Bad Boy,” has not been named as a suspect or as the driver.
When paramedics arrived on the scene Oct. 27, they found two 21-year-old men in the Honda, one dead and the other in critical condition. The injured man died at a hospital.
Police are still trying to determine what happened that night, including who shot the two men and where it happened. No arrests have been made.
