Motorcycle race: An article in Monday’s California section contained an incorrect name for a motorcycle race in the Queen Mary parking lot in Long Beach at which an accident injured several people. The event was the AMA Supermoto, not the AMA Super Motocross.

The accident occurred about 4 p.m. when the cyclist, rounding a curve in the AMA Super Motocross race, lost control and struck a hay bale, then flipped over into the crowd, said Will Nash, a spokesman for the Long Beach Fire Department.

The cyclist hit a flagman, two spectators and a second driver, Nash said.

The motorcyclist was hospitalized in good condition at St. Mary Medical Center, where the flagman was in the intensive care unit undergoing treatment for a head injury, Nash said.
