Record vs. Blue Jackets

(2005-06) -- 3-1.

Update -- Just in time, the patsy-esque Blue Jackets come up on the schedule for the Kings, who have lost seven of their last eight games. They have only 12 goals in those eight games, scoring four against the Phoenix Coyotes, who have the NHL’s worst record. The Blue Jackets are just the type of team the Kings seem to be able to beat this season -- Phoenix, the New York Islanders and the St. Louis Blues are their only victories. Of course, another loss and the Kings will be off to their worst start since going 3-8-1 to open the 1987-88 season. The Blue Jackets, too, are off to a terrible start, but who in Columbus notices with Ohio State ranked No. 1 and barreling toward a showdown with No. 2 Michigan? The Kings’ Alyn McCauley, rehabilitating from two knee surgeries, began skating on his own this week.
