Brigham Young 33, at Air Force 14: John Beck threw three touchdown passes and the Cougars (6-2, 4-0) defeated the Falcons (3-4, 3-2) in a Mountain West Conference game at Air Force Academy, Colo. BYU has won five straight since a 30-23 double-overtime loss to No. 18 Boston College on Sept. 16, and three in a row against Air Force. BYU’s defense held an Air Force offense averaging 355.3 yards to only 229 yards, 80 of which came on the final drive.

at Utah 45, Nevada Las Vegas 23: Brett Ratliff tied his career high with four touchdown passes and JJ Williams returned an interception for a touchdown to help the Utes (5-4, 3-2) beat the Rebels (1-7, 0-4) in a Mountain West game at Salt Lake City.

New Mexico 20, at Colorado State 19: Kenny Byrd kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Lobos (5-4, 3-2) over the Rams (4-4, 1-3) in a Mountain West game at Fort Collins.

at Texas Christian 26, Wyoming 3: Jeff Ballard threw for 244 yards against the nation’s top-ranked pass defense to lead the Horned Frogs (5-2, 1-2) over the Cowboys (4-5, 3-2) in a Mountain West game at Fort Worth.

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 16, at San Diego State 14: Nick Coromelas’ third field goal of the game, a 37-yarder with 1:50 left, lifted the Mustangs (6-2) over the Aztecs (1-6).

at Nevada 48, New Mexico State 21: Linebacker Joshua Mauga forced one fumble and recovered another to lead the Wolf Pack (5-3, 2-2) over the Aggies (2-6, 0-4) in a Western Athletic Conference game at Reno.

at San Jose St. 44, Louisiana Tech 10: Yonus Davis rushed for 199 yards to lead the Spartans (5-2, 2-1) over the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-3) in a WAC game.

at San Diego 44, Morehead State 21: JT Rogan ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Toreros (8-0, 5-0) over the Eagles (1-8, 1-5) in a Pioneer League game. San Diego has won 16 in a row.

Occidental 28, at Cal Lutheran 27: Matt Andersen scored on a one-yard run with 12:28 left as the Tigers (7-0, 5-0) rallied from a 24-7 halftime deficit to defeat the Kingsmen (5-2, 2-2) in a SCIAC game. Occidental quarterback Andy Collins threw second-half touchdown passes of 13 and four yards to Chris Washington. Danny Jones threw two first-half scoring passes for Cal Lutheran and Jesse Matlock had a touchdown catch and touchdown run.

Redlands 24, at La Verne 19: Zack Schafer rushed for 143 yards in 29 carries with an 18-yard touchdown run, and Chris Saras threw two touchdown passes as the Bulldogs (3-4, 3-1) held on for a victory over the Leopards (2-5, 2-5) in a SCIAC game.

at Claremont-Mudd 28, Whittier 25: Quarterback Aaron Gonzales threw touchdown passes of 57 and 67 yards in the first half, and his 64-yard touchdown run with 2:33 left was the difference as the Stags (4-3, 2-2) beat the Poets (1-6, 0-4) in a SCIAC game.

at Chapman 21, Pomona-Pitzer 14: Quarterback Eric Marty threw three touchdown passes and had 182 yards through the air to lead the Panthers (3-4) over the Sagehens (2-5).

No. 11 Notre Dame 38, at Navy 14: Brady Quinn accounted for four touchdowns and the Fighting Irish (7-1) amassed a season-high 471 yards in a rout over the Midshipmen (5-3) at Baltimore. It was Notre Dame’s 43rd consecutive win over Navy. Quinn threw touchdown passes of 36, 33 and six yards, and ran 19 yards for a score. With Quinn leading the way, the Irish scored on their first five possessions to take a 31-14 lead. Quinn completed 18 of 25 passes for 295 yards, Darius Walker ran for 103 yards in 20 carries and Rhema McKnight had two touchdown catches. Navy rushed for 271 yards, 211 in the first half.

at Temple 28, Bowling Green 14: Travis Shelton scored on a 96-yard kickoff return for one of his two touchdowns, and the Owls (1-8) defeated the Falcons (4-5) at Philadelphia to end the nation’s longest losing streak at 20 games.

at Cincinnati 17, Syracuse 3: Dustin Grutza’s 37-yard touchdown pass through a tricky, swirling wind helped the Bearcats (5-4, 2-2) pull away from the Orange (3-6, 0-4) in the second half in a Big East Conference game.

East Carolina 20, at Southern Mississippi 17: Ben Hartman kicked a 24-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Pirates (5-3, 3-2) over the Golden Eagles (4-4, 2-2) in a Conference USA game at Hattiesburg.

at Houston 51, Central Florida 31: Jackie Battle rushed for two touchdowns in the last eight minutes, and the Cougars (6-3, 4-1) scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat the Golden Knights (2-6, 1-3) in a CUSA game.

at Tulane 42, Army 28: Lester Ricard passed for 409 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Green Wave (3-5) over the Black Knights (3-6) at New Orleans.

at Marshall 41, Memphis 27: Ahmad Bradshaw scored three touchdowns to lead the Thundering Herd (3-5, 2-2) over the Tigers (1-7, 0-4) in a CUSA game at Huntington, W.Va.

Ohio 17, at Kent State 7: Voncarie Owens and Kalvin McRae had touchdown runs, and the Bobcats (6-3, 4-1) beat the Golden Flashes (5-3, 4-1) in a Mid-American Conference game.
