Six people, including a teenage boy, were wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon in Compton, officials said.

The six victims all were hospitalized in stable condition late Thursday and expected to survive, said Sgt. Scott Gage of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s station in Compton.

Gage said it was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.

Deputies arrested five suspects shortly after the 5:30 p.m. shootings. All were booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Gage said the shooting took place on North Bullis Road, near Rosecrans Avenue. Two deputies dispatched to the scene spotted a reportedly stolen yellow Hummer and gave chase.

The deputies arrested the five suspects after the Hummer crashed into a semi-trailer a short distance from where the chase began. Several weapons were found in the Hummer, Gage said.
