WITH all the trophy-winning talent at the Grammy Foundation’s Starry Night Benefit, honoring producer Quincy Jones, one might think a statuette was a prerequisite for admission to UCLA’s Straus Stadium. 1. Naomi Campbell, with honorary dinner chair will.i.am, donned a silver vintage Karl Lagerfeld dress to balance out all that gold owned by the crowd, including multi-award-winning artists Gloria Estefan, Herbie Hancock, Patti LaBelle, John Legend, and 2. Kanye West, all of whom performed. “Q,” who has already taken home 27 Grammys, best make room for yet another accolade. 3. Grammy Foundation President Neil Portnow presented Jones with the Leadership Award at the July 28 affair, which raised money for music education and preservation programs.

Swaying support for the arts

At the Noche de Baile event on July 28, Let’s Dance L.A.’s 10. Enio Cordoba and Lauren Calderoni shook it up to help raise $35,000 for Inner-City Arts, which offers free classes to 8,000 at-risk students on their Skid Row campus.
