Man arrested in fatal shooting of two people
A man and woman were fatally shot early Saturday on a sidewalk in a residential neighborhood just east of Disneyland, and an acquaintance of the two was later arrested on suspicion of murder, a police sergeant said.
Pete Quintana, 31, of Anaheim was arrested on suspicion of double homicide and booked into the Anaheim jail about 6 p.m., Anaheim Police Sgt. Tim Schmidt said.
Quintana knew both of the victims, he said.
Juan Carlos Garcia, 27, and Angelina Barraza, 38, both of Anaheim, were found in front of a residence in the 1300 block of South Palm Street about 1:30 a.m. after police responded to several 911 calls, Schmidt said.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds in the upper torso, and Barraza died later at UCI Medical Center, Schmidt said.
