Fullerton surges past Montana

Frank Robinson scored 30 points and Josh Akognon had 26 to lead Cal State Fullerton past Montana, 100-91, in a nonconference game Friday night in Missoula, Mont.

Marcus Crenshaw added 13 points and Scott Cutley 10 for the Titans (4-1), whose only loss came Wednesday night at Arizona.

Fullerton led at the half, 46-43, before extending its advantage over the final 20 minutes, thanks in large part to 52.2% shooting from the field.

Jordan Hasquet had 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Grizzlies (5-3).

Duquesne 97, Cal State Northridge 74 -- Kojo Mensah scored 22 points and the Dukes forced 26 turnovers to beat the Matadors in the Drake Iowa Realty Invitational Tournament in Des Moines.

Aaron Jackson added 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals for Duquesne (6-0), which used a full-court press to pull away in the second half.

Cal State Northridge (4-1) managed a 24-21 lead in the first half before Duquesne rallied for a seven-point halftime lead.

Pepperdine 86, Texas Pan American 84 -- Tyrone Shelley scored 19 points off the bench and the Waves (4-4) won at Bozeman, Mont.

Malcolm Thomas added 16 points and Jason Walberg 14 for Pepperdine, which trailed at halftime, 40-39, before edging ahead over the final 20 minutes in the first round of the MSU GranTree Inn Classic.

Brian Burrell scored a game-high 23 points for Texas-Pan American (4-3).

Zach Trader added 19 points and Paul Stoll had 13.

WOMEN

USC 104, Cal State Fullerton 77 -- Camille LeNoir had 19 points, Morgan Medlock added 15 points and Nadia Parker had 14 to lead the Trojans (3-2) to victory over the Titans (1-4) at Fullerton.
