UC Santa Barbara (9-1) at Ball State (0-9), 4 p.m. -- The Gauchos have won seven consecutive games and are No. 6 in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Poll, but this is their first game in 11 days. They are holding opponents to 61.9 points a game. Ball State, shooting 38.9%, has lost a school-record 15 consecutive games dating to last season.

Mississippi State (5-5) at Loyola Marymount (3-8), 7 p.m. -- Lions freshman Orlando Johnson was named West Coast Conference player of the week after scoring 41 points with 19 rebounds in two games, but the Lions have lost four of their last five.

NONCONFERENCE

Tennessee (9-0) at UCLA (4-5), 7 p.m. -- For the first time in 16 years, the Bruins are playing host to the nation’s top-ranked team. The seven-time national champion Lady Vols are led by Candace Parker, a 6-foot-4 junior who can play five positions. Parker, expected to be selected No. 1 in the WNBA draft by the Sparks this spring, is averaging 22.3 points and 9.2 rebounds. The Lady Vols might be looking ahead to their game Saturday night at No. 5 Stanford. UCLA has shown it can play with the nation’s top teams, holding a 16-point lead against No. 4 Maryland last month before losing, 79-75.
