LOOKING AHEAD

Showing how hip ABC is, it has given up matching the Lakers and Heat on Christmas, featuring the Shaquille O’Neal-Kobe Bryant soap opera that ended long ago -- after only three seasons.

Happily, ABC has an actual attraction in Tuesday’s second game, which matches the Lakers and Suns.

The Suns have eliminated the Lakers in each of the last two postseasons, but this is a new day, the Lakers hope.

The teams met once before in the game that may have turned the Lakers’ season around, their thunderous 119-98 upset in Phoenix after Kobe Bryant was booed in their home opener, which they lost to the Rockets.

Unhappily for ABC, it’s stuck with a turkey in the first game, with Miami, which is also over, facing the Eastern champion Cavaliers, who have looked better themselves.

Two words: Sleep in.
