RESULTS
* at San Diego 8, Atlanta 5: Milton Bradley made his first appearance for the Padres eight days after being obtained in a trade with Oakland. Activated from the disabled list before the game, he beat out an infield single, walked, scored two runs and made a nice fielding play in left field.
* Chicago 7, at Pittsburgh 1: The Cubs, who scored all their runs in the first five innings, finished with 14 hits -- all in the first six innings -- making it easy for Ted Lilly to win his fourth decision in a row.
* at Washington 5, Milwaukee 4: Prince Fielder hit two of the Brewers’ three homers, but they weren’t enough. The Brewers have homered in 16 straight games. It’s their longest streak since a 19-game run from June 11-30, 1996.
* at Cincinnati 5, Arizona 4: The Diamondbacks had runners on first and second with one out in the ninth, but the Reds won to improve to 4-1 under interim manager Pete Mackanin.
* San Francisco 7, at St. Louis 6: The Giants won their first road series since sweeping the Dodgers from April 24-26.
* at Colorado 6, Philadelphia 3: The Rockies handed the Phillies loss No. 9,999 in franchise history. Colorado’s 14-2 home record since June 2 is the best in the majors.
* New York 5, at Houston 3 (17 innings): It was the Mets’ longest game since beating St. Louis, 1-0, in 17 innings on Sept. 29, 1993.
* Florida 7, at Dodgers 2: The Dodgers tied a season worst with their fourth straight loss.
