Man held in fatal shooting of his pregnant girlfriend
A man carrying a bouquet of roses shot and killed his pregnant girlfriend, authorities said.
Dawna Denize Wright, 31, was killed in Tuesday’s shooting at the medical office building where she worked as a receptionist, according to San Diego police spokesman Gary Hassen.
One man was grazed by a bullet, prompting an evacuation of about two dozen workers.
The gunman fled after the shooting. About an hour later, the woman’s boyfriend, Roger McDowell, 34, called them to surrender, police said.
McDowell was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bail.
