Fire threat leads county to suspend burn permits
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
In order to help reduce fire risk this summer, San Bernardino County fire officials have suspended all burn permits, authorities said Tuesday.
The Fire Department suspended burn permits in all areas of the county in cooperation with burn permit restrictions instituted last week by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for state lands within the county.
“Our action is a response to this season’s extreme fire danger conditions,” said county Fire Marshal Peter Brierty. The suspension began Monday.
