Fight sends husband, wife to hospitals
A husband and wife were taken to separate hospitals Monday after an altercation left them both with severe stab wounds, police said.
During the fight at the couple’s home in the 9000 block of Mallard, Abdel Hirbawi, 78, allegedly attacked his wife, Widad, 68, with a knife, striking her repeatedly in the torso. After the woman ran to a nearby house, police said, he stabbed himself.
Widad Hirbawi was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, and Abdel Hirbawi was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Both were listed in critical but stable condition, officials said.
