Lakers get plenty of help

I’m sure Mitch Kupchak is happy the season is over. Now he can get on with his summer job as special consultant to Bill Stoneman.

Now that I have had a week to exhaust all the expletives, name-calling and molten anger after the Lakers’ collapse, I would like to give Mitch Kupchak some needed assistance. I have three trade scenarios, all of which would improve the Lakers substantially.

* Andrew Bynum, Brian Cook, Lamar Odom and Vladimir Radmanovic to Minnesota for Kevin Garnett, Craig Smith and Randy Foye.

* Bynum, Odom and Radmanovic to Boston for Paul Pierce, Al Jefferson, Leon Powe and Delonte West.

* Bynum, Cook, Odom and Radmanovic to Indiana for Danny Granger, Jeff Foster and Jermaine O’Neal.

Mitch, if you could generate any of those trades, you could legitimately call yourself a general manager.

Jerry Buss, Mitch isn’t going to quit. So why don’t you make it easy for all of us. Put Mitch in another job and get a GM with a feel for picking real winners.

If you need a scare to help you out, look at the payroll of the Knicks and the dismal product they have put on the court for more than a decade.

What did I miss when Mitch Kupchak did not re-sign Derek Fisher?

Memo to Kobe: A true leader does not publicly humiliate his teammates. Everything you said to the press about improving the Lakers could have been said in private, with the same results, minus the ego-soothing apologia.
