* at Chicago 10, Oakland 4: Jim Thome hit a three-run homer and finished with five runs batted in and Jermaine Dye added a two-run homer for the White Sox, who have scored 28 runs in their last three games.

* Seattle 5, at Tampa Bay 2: Richie Sexson hit a two-run single and Yuniesky Betancourt broke a sixth-inning tie with a solo homer. Sexson singled off Devil Rays starter Scott Kazmir with the bases loaded to end an 0-for-15 drought with runners in scoring position and wipe out a 2-0 deficit.

* Minnesota 7, at Texas 1: Johan Santana struck out a season-high 13 in seven innings and Justin Morneau homered twice for the Twins. Santana (5-4) broke a personal two-game losing streak, shutting down a Texas offense that had produced 28 runs in its two previous games.

* at Kansas City 4, Cleveland 3: Mark Teahen drew a bases-loaded walk with two out in the seventh inning to force in the winning run as the Royals won for the seventh time in nine games. The Indians -- whose 17-4 home record is the best in the majors -- fell to 10-12 on the road.

* Toronto 6, at Baltimore 4: Alex Rios had three hits and drove in the go-ahead run in a four-run fifth inning. A.J. Burnett (5-3) gave up four runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings to win his third consecutive start.

* Boston 7, at New York 3: Julian Tavarez won on his 34th birthday, helping the Red Sox beat their rivals for the sixth time in eight tries this season.

* Angels 6, at Detroit 3: Orlando Cabrera homered and made a leaping catch to end Detroit’s comeback bid in the ninth inning.
