NO. 13 MICHIGAN (8-2) AT WISCONSIN (7-3)

Share

* Kickoff: Saturday 9 a.m. PST.

* TV: ESPN.

* Line: Michigan by 2 1/2 .

* Michigan update: The Wolverines are on an eight-game win streak and are in position to play Ohio State next week with a Rose Bowl berth on the line. Their offensive leaders, quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart, are nursing injuries, but both played through them and played well last week. Hart is No. 3 in the nation with a 148.5 yards rushing average. After giving up 73 points in their first two losses against Appalachian State and Oregon, Michigan has held its last eight opponents to an average of 14.9.

* Wisconsin update: The Badgers have dropped out of the Big Ten race because they have lost to Ohio State, Penn State and Illinois -- three of the top four teams in the conference. A loss to Michigan would make it four of four. Still, the Badgers are dangerous if running back P.J. Hill can overcome an ankle injury that kept him out last week against Ohio State. Hill, who is still uncertain if he can play Saturday, averages 118 yards rushing. Last week, Wisconsin rushed for 12 yards.

* Story line: It’s a trap game for Michigan, which can win the Big Ten title outright next week. The Wolverines have defeated Wisconsin seven of the last eight meetings. The Badgers have won 13 consecutive home games and 24 of their last 25.

* The pick: Michigan. Unlike the Badgers, the Wolverines have performed well in tough Big Ten games.
