Ray Rice ran for a Rutgers-record 243 yards and scored twice and the Scarlet Knights played keep-away from Army, defeating the Black Knights, 41-6, on Friday night at West Point, N.Y., to end a two-game losing streak.

Rice broke the team record of 232 yards set by Terrell Willis against Temple in 1994, and set another team mark with his fifth career 200-yard game.

Jabu Lovelace scored on two short runs and Colin McEvoy returned a blocked punt 22 yards for another touchdown to help Rutgers (6-4) dominate on a raw, rainy and snowy evening. It was the first loss at home in four games for Army (3-7).

Army entered the game ranked 109th against the run, giving up 212.7 yards a game, and the Scarlet Knights took advantage, running Rice 34 times before he departed early in the fourth quarter.

Rice, sixth nationally with an average of 139.7 yards a game, gained 130 yards in 22 carries in the first half alone as Rutgers held the ball for a stunning 23:42 and limited the Black Knights to only three first downs.

Tyler Sheehan scored on a quarterback sneak with 3:54 left and Bowling Green defeated Eastern Michigan, 39-32, in a Mid-American Conference game a Ypsilanti, Mich.

Sheehan finished with 65 yards rushing and threw for 213 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons (6-4, 4-2).

The Eagles (3-8, 2-4) took a 32-31 lead in the fourth quarter when Andy Schmitt faked a pass, tucked the ball and ran eight yards for a touchdown. But Sheehan scored the clinching touchdown less than three minutes later.
