When it comes to losing in the NFL, the winless Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Rams have locked it down with a combined 0-16 record.

But when it comes to matching up against oddsmakers, the league has two surprise teams added to the mix -- perennial playoff contenders Baltimore and Denver.

While the Dolphins have posted a 2-4-2 mark against the spread, the Ravens (4-4) and Broncos (3-5) have matched the Rams with 1-7 records against the spread.

Baltimore, which has been an underdog only twice this season, is a 3 1/2 -point home favorite today against the Cincinnati Bengals, who are 2-6 overall this season and 3-5 against the spread.

The Ravens may not be a good bet based on the Bengals’ 9-3-1 record against the spread in their last 13 games as road underdogs

Denver, which has lost two games in a row, is a three-point underdog today at Kansas City (4-4).

The Broncos are only 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a road underdog and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games overall.

Miami, a three-point home underdog against Buffalo today, will face a Bills team that is 5-0 against the spread in its last five games.

In the over/under category, Cleveland has stood alone when it comes to high-scoring games.

The over is 7-0-1 in games that include the Browns.

With the combination of quarterback Derek Anderson and receiver Braylon Edwards, Cleveland averages 28.4 points and 365.4 yards a game. But the Browns’ defense has been shaky at best, giving up 29.1 points and 411.8 yards per game.

With two races remaining, Jimmie Johnson has replaced Jeff Gordon as the leader for the NASCAR Nextel Cup title, but Gordon is listed as the money-line favorite to win today’s Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix. Gordon is posted at +400 with Johnson at +450 at BetUS.com’s latest odds.

Gordon won on the same track in April at the Subway 500, but Johnson has won three consecutive Nextel Cup races, including last week at Texas.

Johnson, who has a 30-point overall lead over Gordon, is listed at -225 to win his second Cup title in a row. Gordon is at +150.
