CHICAGO — Danieal Manning set the tone for a strong defensive effort with an early interception, Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen caught touchdown passes, and Chicago rolled to a 23-10 victory over Jacksonville at Soldier Field, where the game-time temperature was 18 degrees.
Robbie Gould kicked three field goals for the Bears (7-6). The Jaguars (4-9) have lost four games in a row and six of seven.
Manning picked off a pass from David Garrard and returned it 42 yards to the five on the third play from scrimmage. That set up Clark’s two-yard touchdown catch and Olsen made an acrobatic 22-yard touchdown reception near the end of the first half, when he reached across the goal line to make it 20-3.
Garrard was sacked three times, giving him 36 this season.
Quoteworthy: “We can finish up 10-6. Most teams that finish up 10-6 end up going to the playoffs.” -- Lovie Smith, Bears coach
