Man dies in shootout with police
From a Times Staff Writer
A man died in a shootout with police Wednesday night after a brief car chase that ended at Cedros Avenue and Valerio Street in Van Nuys, police said.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jason Lee said that the man was pronounced dead at the scene and that at least two other suspects fled on foot and were being sought by authorities.
The incident occurred just before 7 p.m.
