16-year-old shot in Compton drive-by
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives Monday were investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old girl in Compton.
About 12:35 p.m., the girl was sitting in a car outside a house on the 12800 block of Frailey Avenue, said Deputy Oscar Butao.
A gray SUV passed by, and someone inside it fired several shots, hitting the girl in the torso.
She was taken to an area hospital, Butao said, where she was listed in critical condition Monday night.
The girl’s name was not released.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crime to call (323) 889-5500.
