Minnesota 4, at San Diego 3: Justin Morneau went three for four with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Twins to their ninth straight victory, all against the National League. The Twins have outscored their opponents, 56-19, during the nine-game winning streak, and their starters are 8-0 with a 2.17 earned-run average.

Tampa Bay 6, at Florida 1: Matt Garza (6-4) pitched a one-hitter, giving up only Hanley Ramirez’s home run leading off the seventh inning, and the Rays completed a three-game sweep. Garza (6-4) struck out 10 and walked one in his first complete game in 38 major league starts. Evan Longoria homered and had three hits.

at Oakland 5, Philadelphia 0: Rich Harden struck out a career-high 11, giving up two hits in eight innings to lead the Athletics. Harden (5-0) retired his first 14 batters before Shane Victorino singled. Victorino also got the other hit off Harden. Carlos Gonzalez homered for Oakland, which has won three of its last four series.

Baltimore 11, at Chicago Cubs 4: Aubrey Huff had four hits and two RBIs, Jay Payton drove in three runs and the Orioles became only the second team to win a series at Wrigley Field this season. Brian Roberts’ hitting streak reached 13 games. Baltimore roughed up Jason Marquis (6-4), who hadn’t lost in his previous seven starts.

at Toronto 7, Cincinnati 1: Scott Rolen hit a two-run homer off Edinson Volquez and Jesse Litsch (8-4) pitched eight sharp innings. Volquez (10-3) entered with a major league-best 1.71 ERA but was tagged for a season-high seven runs, five earned, and six hits in 4 1/3 innings. His ERA rose to 2.08.

at Houston 7, Texas 2: Wandy Rodriguez (3-3) pitched eight solid innings and tied a career high with nine strikeouts for the Astros. Hunter Pence had a bases-clearing triple to help the Astros win the three-game series over their state rivals. Rodriguez gave up five hits and struck out nine for the first time since August.

at Cleveland 4, San Francisco 1: Cliff Lee struck out a career-high 11 over eight innings to help the Indians avoid a three-game sweep. Jamey Carroll and Jhonny Peralta drove in two runs apiece to support Lee (11-1), who tied Arizona’s Brandon Webb and the Angels’ Joe Saunders for the major league lead in wins.

at Detroit 3, St. Louis 2 (10 innings): Clete Thomas drew a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning to help spoil Albert Pujols’ return to the Cardinals. Pujols, in his first game off the disabled list, hit an RBI single in the ninth to give the Cardinals the lead. But Gary Sheffield answered with a solo home run for Detroit.

New York Yankees at Pittsburgh, ppd., rain: The game was washed out amid lightning with the Yankees ahead, 3-1, in the third inning. The Yankees will return to Pittsburgh for a July 10 makeup game. There was 2 1/2 -hour wait before the game was called.

Chicago White Sox 2, at Dodgers 0: In beating the Dodgers, John Danks (5-4) lowered his road ERA to a major league-best 1.48, compared to 5.23 last season.
