Houston 6, at San Francisco 3: Miguel Tejada had three hits, including the go-ahead single in the seventh inning, and Lance Berkman and Brad Ausmus each homered for the Astros.
at St. Louis 5, Pittsburgh 1: Todd Wellemeyer (4-1) took a two-hitter into the eighth inning and Albert Pujols had two hits for the Cardinals, reaching base for the 41st consecutive game.
Atlanta 8, at Philadelphia 6: Chipper Jones, Yunel Escobar and Kelly Johnson each hit solo home runs, and Brian McCann drove in three runs for the Braves to support Tom Glavine (1-1).
Washington 5, at New York 3: Ryan Zimmerman homered and Tim Redding (5-3) pitched two-hit ball for six innings to help lift the Nationals.
at Chicago 8, San Diego 5: Ted Lilly (4-4) struck out 11 in six innings, and Alfonso Soriano and Geovany Soto homered for the Cubs.
at Cincinnati 7, Florida 6 (10 innings): The Reds blew a six-run lead in the ninth inning, but Paul Janish drove in the winning run with a single in his second big league at-bat. Janish arrived from the minors earlier in the day.
at Arizona 4, Colorado 3: Micah Owings threw six shutout innings for the Diamondbacks, and Brandon Lyon earned his 10th consecutive save.
Dodgers 6, at Milwaukee 4: Juan Pierre hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the ninth inning.
