at Dallas 91, Memphis 76: The Mavericks got their first home victory after losing their first four games at American Airlines Center. Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points and 10 rebounds.

New Orleans 105, at Oklahoma City 80: The visiting Hornets’ starters received a warm ovation from a sellout crowd in the city where the team played two seasons after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

at Milwaukee 104, New York 87: The Knicks dressed the league-minimum eight players after trading away Zach Randolph, Jamal Crawford and Mardy Collins in separate deals . . . and Stephon Marbury still didn’t play.

Houston 103, at Washington 91: The Wizards fell to 1-9, the franchise’s worst start since the 1966 Baltimore Bullets opened 1-10.

Orlando 100, at Indiana 98 (OT): Dwight Howard had 24 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks for the Magic, and Rashard Lewis made the winning basket with 23 seconds left in overtime.

at San Antonio 119, Utah 94: The Spurs, still without injured Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, got 29 points from Roger Mason and made 15 of 25 three-point shots. The Jazz was without Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams.

Chicago 115, at Golden State 110: Larry Hughes scored 26 points and rookie Derrick Rose had 23 of his 25 in the second half for the Bulls. Stephen Jackson scored 32 for the Warriors, who traded Al Harrington to New York earlier in the day.

at Atlanta 88, Charlotte 83: Joe Johnson scored 30 points for the Hawks. Rookie D.J. Augustin led the Bobcats with a career-best 26 points, only to miss a fallaway jumper from the baseline down the stretch.

Portland 117, at Sacramento 96: Steve Blake scored 20 points for the Trail Blazers.

at Philadelphia 89, Clippers 88: All five 76ers starters scored in double figures, with former Clipper Elton Brand getting 17 points.
