Man shot in head on street corner
A 45-year-old man was shot in the head Friday, police said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was standing near Virginia and Western avenues about 2 a.m. when a new, red Chevrolet sedan pulled up and three or four men got out.
One of them shot the victim and then they all got back in the car and fled, said Officer Julianne Sohn of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Sohn said.
Police have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting or released descriptions of the suspects.
