FANTASY FORECAST

There might not be an NFL team that plays locally, but let’s face it, thousands of us have fantasy league rosters that we draft and manage. Each week, Times NFL writer Sam Farmer will offer a few tips to the wise:

*--* PLAY HIM Drew Brees It looks as if Brees, the NFC’s highest-rated passer, is getting Marques Colston back. That’s huge. QB, New Orleans Clinton Portis The Redskins are going to lean heavily on the running game against Cleveland, and Portis has been RB, Washington outstanding lately. Andre Johnson Any receiver has to be licking his chops against Detroit, and Johnson has 19 catches the last two WR, Houston games. BENCH HIM Chad Pennington The Ravens might have their problems on offense, but they’re ranked No. 1 in rushing, passing and QB, Miami total defense. Selvin Young Although the Patriots have been slightly better against the pass than the run, the Broncos are likely RB, Denver to throw, throw, throw. Dwayne Bowe Tennessee’s defense is very tough, and the Chiefs are looking to get the ball in the hands of WR, Kansas City disgruntled tight end Tony Gonzalez. GIVE HIM A CHANCE Jason Campbell Campbell, more comfortable by the week with the West Coast offense, is quietly putting together a QB, Washington great season. Dominic Rhodes With Joseph Addai sidelined, Rhodes will get his chance to step up at Lambeau Field. RB, Indianapolis Sammy Morris Morris is a run-pass threat who will play more because Laurence Maroney is banged up. RB, New England *--*
