JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Trent Edwards was good early and even better late, doing just enough to lead the Buffalo Bills to their best start in five years.

Edwards completed his first 10 passes and threw a perfect touchdown pass to James Hardy late in the fourth quarter, as the Bills beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-16.

Edwards finished 20 for 25 for 239 yards passing, Marshawn Lynch ran for 59 yards and a score, and Buffalo’s defense held Jacksonville in check most of the day.

Buffalo (2-0) trailed, 16-10, in the fourth quarter, but Edwards made two of his best throws when they were needed most -- a 37-yard strike to Lee Evans on third and six from the Jaguars 44, and the seven-yard scoring pass to Hardy in the corner of the end zone.

The Jaguars’ 0-2 start is their worst since 2003. They went 5-11 that year and could be in for another long season.
