Arizona 6, at Pittsburgh 0: Yusmeiro Petit took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and combined with Leonel Rosales on a one-hitter. Ronny Cedeno singled with none out in the eighth for the Pirates’ only hit.

San Francisco 8, at Houston 1: Jonathan Sanchez ended a road losing streak at nine by striking out eight in seven shutout innings.

Chicago 6, at Cincinnati 3: Tom Gorzelanny, in his first appearance with the Cubs, gave up three hits in 7 1/3 innings and drove in a run with a single.


Atlanta 9, at San Diego 2: Martin Prado homered and drove in three runs for the Braves.

at Washington 6, Florida 4: Adam Dunn capped a six-run eighth-inning with a two-run homer.
