Paul Konerko hits three home runs as White Sox beat Indians, 10-6
Paul Konerko hit a career-high three home runs, including a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning, to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 10-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.
Konerko, who drove in a career-high seven runs, became the 12th player in White Sox history to hit three homers in a game.
Konerko homered in the second, sixth and seventh innings. His grand slam in the sixth gave Chicago a 5-3 lead. He has 16 homers for the season.
The White Sox have won 15 of 21 games.
Chicago’s Mark Buehrle, selected Sunday to his fourth All-Star game, gave up three runs and seven hits in seven innings. Buehrle (9-2) struck out three and walked one.
