NBA FINALS: LAKERS 99, ORLANDO 91

Share

Times staff writer Barry Stavro breaks down the keys to the Magic bouncing back in Game 5:

The Magic can start by keeping better control of the ball: it had 17 turnovers in Game 4 compared with seven for the Lakers and Orlando can’t give up possessions. Dwight Howard had seven turnovers. Spending some extra time at the free-throw line in practice might help, too: the Magic missed 15 free throws in Game 4 and Howard missed eight. Orlando relies heavily on Rashard Lewis, who has had two miserable shooting games in this series. Finally, in crunch time the other Magic players often stopped rotating on offense and just watched Hedo Turkoglu and hoped he could bail them out even when he was double-teamed.
