NFL capsule: Oakland at Dallas

Oakland (3-7) at Dallas (7-3)

Time: 1 p.m.

Television: Channel 2.

Line: Cowboys by 13.5.

Over/Under: 40.5.

Story line: The good news for Oakland fans: The Raiders have beaten Dallas three consecutive times and have a 6-3 record against the Cowboys. The bad news? The last meeting was 2005. The teams are in very different positions now, with the Cowboys atop the NFC East (having won five of six) and the 3-7 Raiders at the bottom of the AFC West. The Cowboys have to be concerned about their offense, though, which in the last two weeks against Green Bay and Washington scored six and seven points. The Raiders, meanwhile, are coming off a stunning, morale-boosting victory over heavily favored Cincinnati, highlighted by the crisp final drive of new starting quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. The Cowboys are led by quarterback Tony Romo, who has never lost a Thanksgiving game. He suffered a back injury early in the Redskins game and it seemed to affect his accuracy. Dallas Coach Wade Phillips says Romo is on the mend.

Sam Farmer’s pick: Cowboys 28, Raiders 9.
