Dogs aren’t the only victims
Re “A visual drive to ban dog meat,” Sept. 4
It takes an icy heart to kill a dog and cook it, but that doesn’t mean the South Korean custom is an unusually barbaric one.
Dogs may be more cuddly than pigs, cows, chickens or fish, but these animals, killed annually by the billions for food, suffer just as intensely as the canines.
Lee Won-bok’s efforts to ban eating dog are noble, but we should also question human consumption of every other animal species. Do they not all feel pain?
