Update: Left wing Alexei Ponikarovsky, who broke a finger Nov. 6, is scheduled to return as the Kings end a four-day break between games. The starting goaltender is scheduled to be Jonathan Quick, who ranks among league leaders with a 1.92 goals-against average, .928 save percentage and 13 wins. Defenseman Alec Martinez sat out Wednesday’s practice because of the flu and Coach Terry Murray said Martinez’s status will depend on how he feels Thursday. The Kings remain the only NHL team with a perfect penalty-killing record at home — 43 for 43 over 12 games. The Flames, who defeated Tampa Bay on Tuesday, haven’t won two games in a row since Oct. 24-26.
