Update: The Kings return from the Christmas break to play four games in five days. They are 6-2-1 against the Ducks since Jan. 8, 2009, and are 4-0-2 in their last six home games against the Ducks since Oct. 14, 2008. With a 12-2-1 home record, the Kings matched the franchise-best home record after 15 games. The 1975-76 and 1992-93 teams also were 12-2-1 at home. The Ducks, who have played a league-leading 38 games, have not played since Tuesday. They lost, 5-2, at Buffalo to finish a season-long trip at 2-3. Right wing Corey Perry ranks third in the NHL with 19 goals and is sixth in points with 41. Cam Fowler leads rookie defensemen with 15 assists and is second in points among rookie defensemen with 18.
