Palin pitches TV show

Sarah Palin, who recently joined Fox News as a commentator, is now shopping a series to the television networks.

The former Alaska governor has been meeting with network executives this week to pitch them on a show about her home state. In a sign of her seriousness, Palin has teamed with “Survivor” producer Mark Burnett.

After meetings this week with ABC, CBS and Fox, sources told The Times that the two visited the NBC suites in Burbank on Thursday. One person familiar with the pitch said the show sounded like a nature documentary similar to Discovery’s “Planet Earth.”

Flamingo Las Vegas says the “Donny & Marie Show” will return to its normal performance schedule Tuesday.

The show took a temporary break after the death of Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son, Michael Blosil. Police have said he jumped to his death from a downtown Los Angeles apartment building.

Flamingo Las Vegas on Thursday also announced there will be five extra show dates from April 13 through 17. The dates were originally unscheduled but were added to accommodate those who had tickets to recently canceled shows.

The FBI is hoping advances in DNA technology can help solve a 20-year-old Boston art heist.

A spokeswoman for the FBI’s Boston office tells the Boston Globe that the lead agent in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum case is resubmitting evidence taken from the scene for DNA analysis.

The heist was one of the world’s biggest art thefts. Two men disguised as police officers talked their way into the museum in March 1990 and stole 13 works, including pieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Degas and Manet worth an estimated $250 million.

Jane Pauley, co-host of the “Today” show from 1976 to 1989, is returning to the NBC morning show Monday in an unusual arrangement that will see her monthly appearances produced by AARP and aimed, not surprisingly, at people 50 and older.

“Your Life Calling With Jane Pauley” will focus on “helping millions of Americans age 50+ remain productive, creative and fulfilled as they move through new transitions and new life stages,” AARP said Thursday.

Pauley, 59, also will be a regular contributor to www.AARP.org, the organization said, and expanded versions of her “Today” reports will be available on the website.

Pauley left “Today” acrimoniously, resigning when it appeared that network executives were grooming a younger woman, Deborah Norville, to replace her. She remained with NBC for many years, however, working on prime-time specials and newsmagazines.

-- Lee Margulies Adams’ son sues museum

The son of legendary photographer Ansel Adams is suing the Fresno Metropolitan Museum to keep the now-defunct museum from auctioning off six of his father’s prints.

Adams’ son, Michael, filed a lawsuit in Fresno County Superior Court this week to keep the board from selling his father’s prints, including “Moon and Half Dome” and “Clearing Storm.” He contends that a donation agreement made years ago prohibits such action.

Museum officials are selecting auction houses to sell what they can of the Met’s collection to pay off its creditors. The museum closed in January because of financial troubles.
