Browns’ Jake Delhomme probably won’t play Sunday

Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Jake Delhomme sat out a second week of practice, and will probably sit out a second straight game.

Delhomme, who sprained his right ankle in the season opener at Tampa Bay, did not practice again Friday, making it improbable he will play in Sunday’s game at Baltimore. Delhomme was inactive last Sunday, when the Browns hosted Kansas City.

Browns Coach Eric Mangini has not yet ruled Delhomme out, but it appears backup Seneca Wallace will face the Ravens and make his second start in a row.

“I don’t know,” Mangini said Friday when asked if Delhomme will be inactive. “He’s very aggressive with his rehab. It’s like everything else he does, he does it very aggressively and each day it gets a little better. I have total confidence to operate the plan if he is available. We’ll just have to see.”

Delhomme was not available in the locker room during the 45-minute period open to reporters. He was not seen at the team’s facility all week.
