No. 7 Florida (4-0) at No. 1 Alabama (4-0)

Saturday, 5 p.m., Channel 2

It doesn’t get much bigger than this in early October, with the last two Southeastern Conference and Bowl Championship Series champions meeting for bragging and bullying rights. Florida defeated Alabama two years ago in the SEC title game on its way to the national title. Alabama returned the favor last year on its way to Pasadena. The pick: Alabama.

No. 9 Stanford (4-0) at No. 4 Oregon (4-0)

The winner of this top-10 battle takes early control in the Pacific 10 Conference. Stanford handed Oregon its only conference loss last season in Palo Alto and features, arguably, the Pac-10’s best quarterback in Andrew Luck. Oregon’s spread offense runs fast and furious, but the defense was exposed a bit last week at Arizona State. The pick: Oregon.

No. 8 Oklahoma (4-0) vs. No. 21 Texas (3-1)

Saturday, 12:30 p.m., Channel 7

The annual Red River Rivalry game at the Cotton Bowl lost some national luster with Texas’ home loss last week to UCLA, but this game has been the early benchmark for Big 12 Conference supremacy for more than a decade. The pick: Oklahoma.
