Update: Kings forward Wayne Simmonds did not make the trip after suffering what was thought to be an ankle injury against Edmonton on Saturday. The Kings play 13 of their next 16 games on the road. Goaltender Jonathan Bernier, who had given up 11 goals in his two previous starts, stopped 24 of 26 shots in a 5-2 victory over Edmonton. Dallas has taken control of the Pacific Division, earning at least one point in 21 of its last 26 games. The Stars are 17-5-4 during that stretch. The Stars’ Brad Richards is sixth in the NHL with 52 points. He has 18 goals and 34 assists. Dallas’ Loui Eriksson scored at least one point in nine consecutive games (one goal, 10 assists), the longest active point streak in the NHL.
