Firefighters knock down brush fire in Brentwood

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a new brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in Brentwood just after 3:20 p.m.
The fire was knocked down less than an hour after it erupted near Kenter Avenue, north of Sunset Boulevard.
Roughly 60 firefighters responded to the scene, which occurred near a recently demolished home. Brush clearance and a lack of strong winds helped efforts to contain the flames.
The LAFD said the fire was less than an acre. It had burned uphill at a medium speed but did not threaten any structures.
