Gold Standard: Live chat with ‘Portlandia’s’ Fred Armisen

Share

Fred Armisen wears many hats (or, in some cases, wigs) on the IFC comedy series “Portlandia.” As Candace, he runs a feminist bookstore with Toni (Carrie Brownstein), militant in their ideology and belief that anyone who wants to use the bathroom absolutely must make a purchase. As Dave, he loves the Pacific Northwest’s great outdoors, but seems best-suited to never stepping outside his front door. And, sometimes, he’s just Fred, savoring the artisan popcorn and arugula salads the fine city’s movie theaters have to offer.

Armisen will be joining us in the Los Angeles Times’ TV studio on Monday at 9 a.m. PDT to talk about the show, which has been renewed for a fifth season, as well as his time on “Saturday Night Live” and, most recently, leading the band on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” Oh, and he was great on Maya Rudolph’s recent variety show, too.

How he has the time to do all this and talk to us ... well, we just don’t know. But we’ll ask. And we’ll happily pass along your questions as well. Tweet them to us, using the hashtag #asklatimes. See you Monday!
