Hayden Panettiere reportedly engaged to boxer Wladimir Klitschko
Hayden Panettiere and boxer Wladimir Klitschko are reportedly engaged, but shhh! It’s a secret.
“Very few people know, and she isn’t wearing her ring publicly yet,” a source told Us Weekly, which reported the news Wednesday. The mag reported that the couple might wed this summer.
The “Nashville” starlet, 23, and Ukrainian heavyweight, 37, have yet to publicly confirm their relationship, let alone their engagement, despite being seen together packing in the PDA. The two were super-cuddly at a Miami Heat game in Florida, where he lives, over the weekend.
Panettiere told TMZ in January that she and her beau, who is the younger brother of the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, were “just good buddies.” Mm-hmm.
She and Klitschko called it quits in 2011 after dating for two years, citing the difficulties of long-distance relationships. And they weren’t just talking about the distance between them in height: At 6 foot 6, Klitschko towers over the 5-foot-2 TV star. Or the age difference either, we suppose.
Panettiere has previously been linked to her “Heroes” costar Milo Ventimiglia (whose ex-girlfriend Alexis Bledel is coincidentally engaged too). She also dated “One Tree Hill” star Stephen Colletti. She and former New York Jets player Scotty McKnight broke up in December after dating for about a year and a half.
Here’s hoping these nuptials fare better than those of her “Nashville” alter-ego.
And for the love of entertainment writers who aim to spell correctly, Hayden, please don’t hyphenate your last name.
