‘Community’ cast addresses Season 4’s ‘Oct. 19’ premiere date

“Community” was originally supposed to begin its fourth season on Oct. 19. But as that date has arrived, “Community” is not on the NBC schedule.
What are “Community” fans supposed to do? “Animal Practice” is now gone and “Whitney” has returned to the schedule. But still no “Community.”
To cheer up frustrated fans, the cast of “Community” gathered to make a short video explaining that they may not be on the air on Oct. 19, but no matter when they return, it will be Oct. 19. Because Oct. 19 is a state of mind.
The return of “Community” will be watched closely because it will be the debut of the show without its creator, Dan Harmon, at the helm. Harmon was let go by Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series, over the summer. The new show runners, David Guarascio and Moses Port, have gone to great lengths to assure fans that they won’t stray far from Harmon’s original vision for the show.
NBC recently made some moves with its comedy programming, taking the low-rated “Animal Practice” off the schedule and putting the second season of “Whitney” in its place. “Whitney” returns to the air on Nov. 14.
