Gorongosa Park — Rebirth of Paradise In this new episode, filmmaker Bob Poole and his team tend to a seriously wounded lion cub, then document the return of zebras and giant antelopes to the area. 8 p.m. KOCE and KPBS

The Grinder In this new comedy, a former star of a TV legal show (Rob Lowe) decides to join his family’s law firm in his native Boise with his brother (Fred Savage). William Devane also stars as their father. 8:30 p.m. Fox

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The season premiere should tell us what happened to Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) in last spring’s final scene, which saw her essentially swallowed up by a cube that turned from solid to liquid, then back again. 9 p.m. ABC
