Los Angeles Fashion Council lineup will include Katharine Kidd

With the last stiletto set to hit the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday, the lineup for L.A. Fashion Week is coming into focus -- including a two-day slate of shows organized by the Los Angeles Fashion Council that we’ve just learned will close out with a runway show by L.A.-based designer Katharine Kidd.

Kidd, who launched her eponymous women’s line in 2010 and has two boutiques (one in the Brentwood Country Mart and one in Atlanta), is known for her feminine silhouettes, standout prints and a Hollywood client base that includes Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Emmy Rossum, Kate Beckinsale and Lea Michele.

The full schedule, which is expected to be announced shortly, includes brands familiar from past LAFC events -- Odylyne, ISM Mode and the Bohemian Society among them -- as well as some new designers like Rose La Grua and Amabelle Aguiluz, the winner and runner-up respectively of LAFC’s recent Open Runway competition.

Parts of the L.A. Fashion Week events, slated to take place Oct. 9 and 10 at the Grove shopping center (with a pre-party on Oct. 8), will actually be visible from afar to shoppers passing the park area. For anyone seeking a closer vantage point -- at least when it comes to the makeup -- cosmetics sponsor (and Grove tenant) MAC will be be offering in-store demonstrations of runway looks.
