Manual Arts 3, Jefferson 0
Armando Sanchez, Manuel Rodriguez and Balmore Catalan each scored a goal for Manual Arts (5-0), which went 3-0 in the Gardena tournament.

Manual Arts goalkeeper Wilson Rossil made three saves for his first shutout.

The Toilers scored two first-half goals and added another goal in the 58th minute, taking advantage of the absence of four Jefferson starters.

Several yellow cards were issued, and Jefferson coaches pulled their team off the field with eight minutes left because of concerns about rough play.

Championship Semifinals

Jefferson 2, Belmont 1
German Garcia scored on an eight-yard header in the 45th minute to lift Jefferson (4-0) past Belmont (3-1) in the championship semifinals of the Gardena tournament.

Jesse Peredes converted a penalty kick for the Democrats’ first goal in the 20th minute after he was fouled in the penalty area.

Belmont trailed 2-0 before scoring in the last five minutes of the game.

Manual Arts 7, North Hollywood 0
Balmore Catalan scored three goals and Armando Sanchez, Christian Abarca, Juan Ortega and Omar Carrillo had one goal each for Manual Arts (4-0) in a victory at Gardena.

Goalkeeper Josue Rodriguez made two saves for his third shutout of the season.

Jefferson 4, Carson 1
Freshman halfback Jesse Peredes scored twice, and senior forward German Garcia and freshman forward Alejandro Martin Del Campo both added a goal for Jefferson (3-0). Freshman halfback Israel Martin Del Campo assisted on all four goals.

Manual Arts 3, Gardena 0
Omar Carillo scored two goals and Balmore Catalan had a goal and an assist for Manual Arts (3-0). Gardena is 3-1.

Etiwanda 4, Westchester 0
Kyle Ochoa recorded his first hat trick of the season in leading Etiwanda (5-2-2) to victory at home.

Milan Radovic scored the go-ahead goal with five minutes remaining for Chatsworth (5-0-1). Bob Colocho had Chatswoth’s first goal, while Kendrick Watson scored for Pasadena (6-1-2). Chatsworth will play Burbank Friday at 3 p.m.

CROSSTOWN/FREEWAY LEAGUE

Elizabeth 3, USC-MaST 1 Luis Cortes, Raul Espinoza and Danny Cavallero each scored for host Elizabeth (3-2, 3-1). USC-MaST fell to (1-1-2, 1-1-2).

Sun Valley Poly 6, L.A. Marshall 0
Senior Edgar Melendrez scored three goals and senior Jesus Martinez added two goals to lead host Sun Valley Poly (2-0-1) over Marshall.

Junior forward Peter Saatjian scored twice, and junior midfielder David Gold added one for host El Camino Real (6-2). Sophomore C.J. Bennett had five saves in the shutout.

Freshman forward Sam Mendoza scored off a penalty kick in the 34th minute for Van Nuys (1-1-0).

Sun Valley Poly 1, Taft 1
Senior Gerardo Alcantara scored the game-tying goal on a penalty kick for Poly (1-0-1). Mario Amidi scored on a breakaway with an assist from Alex Sewitz in the 15th minute of the first half for host Taft (2-2-2).

Miguel Benitez scored the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute for Foshay (2-0-1, 2-0-1).

Benny Caballero scored two goals and Luis Cortez scored the game-winning goal on a free kick and had one assist for Elizabeth (2-1) in a victory at King-Drew (0-3).

USC-MAST 7, Middle College 0Rafael Mendoza and Marvin Bojorquez leach scored two goals for USC-MAST (1-0-2) in the victory over Middle College (0-1-1).

USC-MAST also got single goals from Pablo Rodriguez, Miguel Chicas and Walter Vicent, and Alfredo Munguia made four saves in his first shutout.

Oscar Garcia, Ramon Renderes, and Marvin Salazar each scored one goal for Birmingham (1-2) in a victory over visiting L.A. University.

Christian Abarca and Balmore Catalan each scored one goal to lead Manual Arts (2-0) past visiting North Hollywood (1-1-1).

Rudy Maravilla scored two goals and goalie Ruben Vega recorded his second shutout to lead San Fernando (2-1) in a victory over visiting Verdugo Hills (0-3).

Taft 7, Eagle Rock 0
Agustin Cazarez scored two goals and Mario Amidi, Ricky Madrid, Andrew Ruiz, Alex Sewitz and Mke Urnecli each added one for Taft (2-1-1).

Amidi also had four assists. Goalkeeper Luis Carmona made three saves in his first shutout of the season.
