Palisades 23 1/2, Eagle Rock 6
Chris Ko lost one game in four sets at No. 1 singles and Stephen Surjue lost three games in four sets at No. 3 singles for the second-seeded Dolphins who swept all 16 round robin singles sets at Palisades Recreation Center. Freshman Ariel Oleynik and sophomore Stephen Surjue both upset Eagle Rock’s No. 1 player, Mike Maarup, who was seeded No. 16 in the City Individual tournament. Surjue defeated Maarup 6-2 and Oleynik won 7-6 for the Dolphins (12-2, 11-0). Jon Pahed and Chris Trinh won two out of three sets at No. 1 doubles for seventh-seeded Eagle Rock (12-3).

Taft 15 1/2, Cleveland 14
Joseph Tchan, Taft’s no. 1 singles player, defeated Calvin Chan, Cleveland’s No. 3 singles player, 7-6 (8-6), at Taft.

INVITATIONAL DIVISION

Granada Hills Kennedy 15 1/2, L.A. Marshall 14
Kennedy’s No. 3 doubles team of David Zolud and Daniel Lea defeated Marshall’s No. 1 team of Richard Kim and Gayk Khandyan, 6-3, at Kennedy.

No. 6-seeded Chatsworth (8-6) will play No. 3-seeded Granada Hills Thursday in the second round.

Cleveland 28, Garfield 1 1/2
Jared Drucker, the No. 1 singles player, and No. 2 singles player Andrew Ong each won his sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, to lead host Cleveland (9-5), seeded No. 5.

Eagle Rock 22, San Pedro 7 1/2
Mike Maarup swept 6-2, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Bryan Rodriguez swept 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Luigi Aquino swept 6-4, 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 at no. 3 singles to lead host Eagle Rock (14-3).

Reseda 18 1/2, Sun Valley Poly 11
No. 2 singles player Soroush Entezari swept, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, 6-0, to lead host No. 8-seeded Reseda (13-1, 10-0). Reseda will play No. 1-seed El Camino Real Thursday in the second round.

Carson 18 1/2, South Gate 11
No. 2 singles player Chris Daniels swept his sets, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, to lead visiting Carson (11-3). Carson will play Birmingham Thursday in the second round. South Gate finished 10-4.

Sherman Oaks CES 15, Westchester 14 1/2
Ryan Hovivian won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, Matt Hollander won, 6-2, 7-6, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 2 singles and Jaime Ruiz won, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles to lead visiting Sherman Oaks CES.
